Job overview
The nursing associate will provide support to the registered nurse by caring for patients and enhance the quality of hands on care offered by nursing assistants. Nursing associates will be accountable for their own practice. Their key purpose is to demonstrate a level of analysis, judgement and implement care that is in the majority non-routine requiring a significant theoretical knowledge under the supervision of registered practitioners in a range of settings.
Main duties of the job
An exciting development opportunity has arisen to take on a new role on the Gynaecology Ward as the Day Surgery coordinator. The role is suitable for an experienced practitioner who will be an expert in the patient journey from admission through to discharge. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, will show ability to work autonomously and be committed to developing services within women’s health.
The post holder must have an Associate Nurse/Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree. We will also consider N/A , A/P Students who are imminently due to qualify
It is essential that the person is enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about providing high quality, safe, patient centred care. Good communication skills are essential and the ability to work with people as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will work independently, carrying out patient care in collaboration with the registered nursing staff.
The post holder will be required to work Mon to Friday 7:15-3:15pm, 37.5hrs per week, some flexibility in hours will be considered.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values and those of theOUHFT.
Work as part of a designated nursing team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual, supporting registered nurses and non registered practitioner.
Be able to appropriately delegate tasks to non registered practitioners .
Carry out specific delegated health care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency
