Prior consideration for this vacancy will be given to staff currently awaiting redeployment and we therefore reserve the right to withdraw this advert at any stage.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh.  Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

Come and join our fantastic, motivated and enthusiastic team on ward T.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered Band 5 nurse to join our team.

Ward T is a 24 bedded diverse and challenging area, which specialises in maxillofacial and ear, nose and throat surgery including specialist head and neck surgery.

The post holder will work as part of a seven day service, working a variety of shifts including bank holidays, weekends and nights.

As a Band 5 on Ward T you will be primarily caring for the pre and post-operative maxillofacial and ear, nose and throat patients, including our specialist four bedded step down unit which involves caring for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients. This will include the complex discharge of these patients. Training for this will be provided.

The successful applicant will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, for example speech and language therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and specialist cancer nurses. There will also be plenty of opportunities for ongoing training.

A supportive preceptorship programme is available for newly qualified nurses, working alongside clinical educators and experience staff nurses.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
